With this design I wanted an old world, gentleman’s club look. This was achieved through the use of the background texture (old wallpaper) and an eclectic mix of themed imagery (old playing cards, opera glasses, cigar case, etc.).
By isolating the text onto pieces of old paper and card I was able to improve its contrast and readability while adding another layer of character and substance to the overall mood/theme of the design.
NOTE: This design was created as part of a lesson plan on theme boards.
