Book Art by Georgia Russell

Georgia Russell is a Scottish artist who slashes, cuts and dissects printed matter, transforming books, music scores, maps, newspapers and photographs.

Georgia Russell was a student at the Royal College of Art when she came across row upon row of second-hand books whilst in Paris. Thinking how dead and unloved they looked, she decided to breath new life into them. Through manipulating the books into an organic form and encasing them in glass specimen jars, a transformation was effected.
